I remember thinking when I took Interpersonal Communication that it would be a no-brainer. One-on-one communication, how hard could that be? Turns out, not only was it my most challenging undergrad class, thirty years and three marriages later, I've come to understand it was the most important.
And that's how I treat this course. This is the most important class you can take. Its fundamental and advanced concepts improve how you relate to one other, how you treat that one other and - just as important - how you will allow yourself to be treated by them while you work to arrive at shared meaning.
